The brief
Noon Sandwicherie & Koffie makes sandwiches in Ghent under the motto "The Best & Biggest in Town", and also caters for businesses. That catering needed its own ordering site: a place where a company puts together its own lunch, picks a time, pays and immediately receives a correct invoice. Because Noon is based in Belgium, that took more than a shopping basket: checking VAT numbers, sending invoices via Peppol and delivery costs that match the distance. And the shop had to be able to keep the menu, prices and closing days up to date themselves.

Choosing like at the counter
An order takes six steps, from headcount to payment. You put together your own selection from the whole menu, from sandwiches and salads to soup, desserts, biscuits and drinks, and choose the bread for each sandwich. Or let Noon choose with the surprise option: a mix of sandwiches, salads and lunch boxes, with drinks, soup or desserts on top. Ordering just extras, such as a dessert buffet, works too.

Your order at a glance
The summary shows what's being ordered and what it costs. That's where you choose how it's packed, individually or cut and served festively on a platter, pass on any allergies and download the quote as a PDF to get it signed off internally.

Delivery by cycling distance
You enter the address with Google autocomplete. The site works out the cycling distance from the shop, with driving as a fallback, and turns it into a delivery rate. So the price always matches the trip. In the calendar you can order from the next day onwards, never on a Sunday, and on Saturdays for collection only. Noon sets closing days themselves in Sanity, and they disappear from the calendar straight away.

Invoices that send themselves
While ordering, the VAT number is checked against VIES, along with whether the company can be reached on Peppol. Organisations without a VAT number enter their company number instead. Payment happens online through Mollie, with Bancontact or a credit card, or by invoice. The invoice goes out through Billit as a Peppol e-invoice, the customer gets a confirmation by email and the team gets a WhatsApp message for every paid order.

Managed in the Studio
Products, categories, breads, sauces, toppings, prices, discount codes and closing days live in Sanity. Invoices can be sorted by number and resent to the customer, the accountant or both, via Peppol too. Cancelling an order or downloading invoices in bulk happens in the same place. The images show a fictional order on the live site. We deliberately don't show the admin side: that's where real customer data lives.
